Reasons To Test

 

Displays academic struggle for a prolonged period of time

Poor grades as displayed on report cards or per teacher report

Difficulty with following instructions and/or sustained attention

Complaints of school regarding level of difficulty and/or subject matter

Confusion when working with letters or numbers

Difficulty sustaining attention or retaining information that was recently presented in class (i.e. math facts, spelling words, or class notes)

When completing homework, earlier class lessons must be re-taught

Difficulty getting your child to complete homework

Inconsistencies with academics across subjects

Teacher reports of concern in academic progress

Problems which were addressed and appeared resolved in lower grades are now resurfacing in the later grades

Poor standardized testing scores

Interest in accommodations for the ACT or SAT

Three years have passed since his/her last psychoeducational assessment

Emotional Displays or Changes: Angry, sad, frustrated, withdrawn, anxious, poor self-confidence, and/or poor self-image

School refusal or anxiety related to attending school

Teacher reports of inappropriate or maladaptive behavior

Behavioral concerns at home

The child has consistent difficulty with finding and sticking with a social network

At a loss for ways to help your child emotionally and/or academically
